Leadership Butler, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that began with its first adult class in 1988. The purpose then and today is to bring individuals in Butler County together to learn more about each community's daunting civic challenges and how they can make a difference. Leadership Butler, Inc. provides skill and capacity training with tools to meet the those challenges, while empowering individuals to exercise leadership within Butler County communities. The organization has three opportunities: Youth Leadership Butler, the Adult Program, and the soon-to-be-revamped Alumni Association.
Leadership Butler, Inc. is a diverse organization: over 500 individuals across Butler County have participated in the adult program and over 400 with the youth program. Funding for the organization comes from businesses, graduates and private donations as well as a grant from Butler County. The adult and youth programs are the main focus of Leadership Butler, Inc. but the organization also offers opportunities for others in the county to learn about leadership development.
The organization is proud to hold memberships in local Chambers of Commerce, is affiliated with and collaborates with the Central Kansas Community Foundation-Butler County, and Leadership Butler works closely with several state organizations such as the Kansas Leadership Center and the Kansas Health Foundation.
